Collect patient balances with care, and settle them the right way

CollectPlus helps agencies and billing offices work patient balances: settlement offers within each provider's authority, approvals when an offer goes beyond it, patient-friendly letters and e-signatures, and claims when you bill insurance first.

  • Settlement authority per provider
  • Letters and e-signature
  • CMS-1500 and 837P

Settlements

Settle within each provider's authority

Record how much of a balance each provider accepts without being asked. Offers inside that share can go ahead; anything beyond it goes to the provider for approval.

  • Settlement authority per provider. A default settlement percentage on each creditor record.
  • Approval requests. For an offer beyond the authority, open an approval request for the provider. A work queue lists the ones still waiting.
  • A clean settled account. Post the payment, the agreed discount and the settled status, so the balance, the history and the creditor's report all agree.

Provider terms

Fees that follow each provider's contract

  • Deduct or bill. Take your fee from each payment, or invoice the provider for it.
  • Fees on discounts. Bill or waive the fee on a settlement discount, as the contract says.
  • Remittance and invoices. Check runs pay each provider its share, and billed fees are invoiced.

Patient communication

Letters and payment options patients understand

  • Your letter templates. For example a settlement offer, an agreement the patient signs online and a financial assistance referral.
  • E-signature. Patients sign agreements online with ICCOSign, DocuSign or SignNow.
  • Easy ways to pay. Payment links by email or text, QR codes on letters, payment plans and a patient portal.

Claims

Bill insurance first when you need to

CollectPlus produces CMS-1500 claim forms and 837P files from the patient's procedures and diagnoses, so a billing office can bill insurance before a balance goes to collections.
