Technical overview

A Microsoft stack your IT team already knows

CollectPlus 12 is a web app on ASP.NET Core and Microsoft SQL Server, with a Windows application for the back office. ICCO hosts and maintains it, and hosting is included in the price.

  • ASP.NET Core (.NET 8)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Hosted by ICCO

Architecture

How the pieces fit

Collectors, creditor clients and debtors use one web app. Back-office staff also use the Windows application. Both work on the same Microsoft SQL Server database, so a payment taken on the web shows in the back office at once.

Services beside the web app store documents, render reports, run unattended jobs and give your vendors an API.

Hybrid by design

What runs where

CollectPlus 12 is a hybrid. Daily work runs in the web app, and the Windows application, which is included, keeps the back-office work that has not moved to the web yet. Each release moves more of it.

In the web app

  • Work queues, debtor records, contact plans and the interaction timeline
  • Payments, card and ACH batches, payment posting and payment plans
  • Creditor setup, fee structures, placements and check runs
  • The creditor portal and the debtor portal
  • Document batches, workflow rules and the form designer
  • Dashboards, reports and the web administration console

In the Windows application

  • Trust accounting: bank reconciliation, deposits, refunds and voids
  • Creditor invoices
  • Referring accounts to an outside agency, with the referral history
  • Text message settings and the replies screen
  • SIP softphone and TAPI phone system integration
  • A number of settings screens

Operations

Running it day to day

Unattended jobs

The scheduler runs letter batches, e-signature follow-up, AI jobs, queue actions and payment-file imports without anyone at a desk.

Background processing

Card and ACH batches, check runs and payment posting run as background jobs, with protection against double charges and double payments.

Administration

The web administration console configures the system from the browser, with a search that finds any setting.

Reports

SQL Server Reporting Services reports open in the browser as PDF or Excel, and grids export to CSV where you allow it.

Documents

Letter templates are Word (.docx) files with merge fields. The server produces PDFs with LibreOffice, so Microsoft Word is not needed on the server.

Security

Two-factor sign-in, permissions down to a field, an audit trail and field encryption. Security controls
